Position: Medical Practice Administrator/Orthopedics
Location: Ellicott City, Maryland (Main Office)

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Medical Practice Administrator to lead the daily operations of our practice. This position is responsible for ensuring smooth clinical and administrative workflows, optimizing the patient experience, managing staff, overseeing financial performance, and ensuring compliance with all medical regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations & Leadership
- Oversee daily operations of the medical practice to ensure efficiency and high-quality patient care. To include oversight and supervision of 7 Department/Office Managers.
- Lead, train, and supervise administrative and clinical support staff.
- Develop and implement office policies, workflows, and standard operating procedures.
- Serve as primary point of contact for staff, providers, and external partners.
Financial & Business Management
- Oversight of revenue cycle processes including billing, A/R, and collections.
- Prepare and manage annual budgets, monthly financial reports, and forecasting.
- Oversee vendor contracts, purchasing, and cost-control initiatives.
- Monitor KPIs and operational metrics to support informed decision-making.
Compliance & Regulatory Oversight
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and all federal and state healthcare regulations.
- Maintain risk management, quality assurance, and safety programs.
- Oversee credentialing for providers.
Patient Services
- Oversight of front desk operations, scheduling, check-in/out, and patient communications.
- Support patient satisfaction initiatives and resolve escalated concerns.
- Ensure a professional, compassionate, and efficient patient experience
Technology & Reporting
- Manage Practice Management system; support staff training and troubleshooting.
- Produce operational, financial, and clinical performance reports.
- Identify opportunities to leverage technology to improve efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3–5+ years of management experience in a private medical practice.
- Proven leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA
- Allscripts practice management software experience will be given preferential consideration.
- Experience in a multi-provider or specialty medical practice.
- CMPE or FACMPE certification (MGMA) a plus.
- Experience with HR management (hiring, performance evaluations, payroll oversight).
- Project management or process improvement experience.
