Overview

Performance Expert (R2PC) - Fort Lee, Virginia

This position is contingent upon a vacancy at this location. KBR is seeking a Performance Expert to help strengthen the physical and psychological health, resilience and performance of Soldiers, Unit Leaders, Families, and DA Civilians located at Army Installations. The Resilience Training/Ready and Resilient Performance Center Program provides specialists focused on optimizing mental and physical health and supports Army training and education programs across installations. The work aims to increase the physical and psychological health, resilience, and performance of Soldiers, Families, Department of the Defense personnel, US Government Agencies, Allied Forces Cadets (ROTC), and Department of the Army Civilians (DAC).

Responsibilities

  • Master Resilience Trainers instruct individuals in holistic strength, conditioning, and resilience so they can help ensure durability. Certified Performance Experts conduct training intake/registration, initial unit contact, observation, and development of training plans. They prepare for training events by researching, tailoring course material, producing and distributing materials, facilitate training, grade student course materials, and document grades in required databases.
  • Assess training impact by distributing surveys after training, summarize results in an After-Action Review (AAR) for each session, and provide the AAR to leadership within five workdays. Prepare quarterly analyses and maintain training records. Observe instructors and provide feedback on delivery. Complete initial instructor certifications to ensure effective delivery.
  • Instruction focuses on resilience and performance enhancement, tying training to unit missions, and incorporating resilience and performance enhancement into higher-level guidance. Training includes building professional climates founded on mutual trust, empowering Leaders in communication and counseling skills, developing critical thinking, and teaching practical application of resilience and performance skills. Provide tailored educational programs and workshops to help personnel in demanding environments achieve personal, professional, and family goals.

Required Education/Experience

  • Education: Masters degree from an accredited college or university in Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Counseling Education, Coaching Education, or Kinesiology with emphasis in sport/performance psychology.
  • Teaching or coaching experience, preferably with military and DoD personnel.
  • Thorough knowledge of the Army organizational structure, mission objectives, function, procedures, regulations, and policy pertaining to the Department of the Army.
  • Prior to performing Performance Expert tasks, PEs shall be evaluated and certified to ensure capability to deliver lessons.

Preferred Education/Experience

  • Certifications or memberships in professional associations related to the field (e.g., Association for Applied Sports Psychology, Certified Mental Performance Consultant, American Board of Sport Psychology) or the ability to obtain within one year of hire.
