Sodexo’s Campus Segment is seeking an experienced and dynamic Food Operations Manager 3 for SUNY Plattsburgh in Plattsburgh, NY. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on professional who thrives in a fast-paced, customer-focused university dining environment.

 

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in retail food operations , team development , and client relations , along with proven success in achieving operational and financial goals.

What You'll Do:
  • Oversee daily food and retail operations to ensure excellence in quality, service, and presentation.

  • Train, develop, and lead a large management and hourly team (union environment experience a plus).

  • Manage purchasing, food and labor costs, and budget performance to meet or exceed financial targets.

  • Uphold Sodexo’s food and physical safety programs and compliance standards.

  • Foster strong client relationships through clear communication, responsiveness, and partnership.

  • Champion service excellence, promoting a positive and engaging customer experience across all dining locations.

  • Collaborate with leadership to develop and execute strategic plans that align with both client and company goals.

What You Bring:
  • Proven success managing college/university retail dining or similar high-volume operations.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, train, and inspire diverse teams .

  • Solid understanding of financial management , including purchasing, budgets, and cost control.

  • Experience implementing food safety , sanitation , and service quality standards .

  • Excellent communication and client relations skills.

  • A passion for hospitality, food, and people —with a focus on creating a positive culture that drives results.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Minimum Education Requirement - Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

Minimum Management Experience - 3 years

Minimum Functional Experience - 3 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
